After a rocky start where the visiting Grizzlies scored two runs, Young settled down and shut them out the rest of the way.

Shady answered Nicholas with two runs of its own but scored the decisive run in the third and tacked on two more in the bottom of the sixth for good measure.

Tyler Mackey was 2-for-4 at the plate for Shady, driving in two runs while catcher Parker Redden also drove in two runs.

Evan Belcher led Shady with three total hits.

Shady will play at Independence on Friday, needing to win two games to advance to the regional championship. Nicholas County concludes its season with the loss.
