BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Current attorney for the City of Beckley, Bill File has expressed plans to resign from his role with this city according to recently sworn in City Manager, Michael Resare.
In an interview following Resare’s swearing-in ceremony – facilitated by Raleigh County Circuit Judge, Darl Poling – the new City Manager indicated that File had made his intentions known during a meeting prior to the ceremony.
When questioned regarding a timeline with regard to File’s planned departure, Resare indicated that the change would not go into effect immediately, and that the city is currently seeking candidates to fill the role of City Attorney.
To that end, it is said that Bill File plans to continue his participation in meetings of Beckley City Council sessions until such a time that a replacement candidate is secured to take on the duties associated with the role.
