BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Beckley City Council will meet on Tuesday, February 11, at 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers at 409 S. Kanawha Street.
The meeting will open with the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by an invocation from Pastor John Jordan of Calvary Assembly of God.
Council members will review and approve minutes from previous meetings held on January 8, January 28, and February 3.
They will also hear brief comments from the mayor and council members before moving on to key agenda items.
Under old business, the council will discuss WV Collective and the Pinehaven Homeless Shelter.
In new business, they will consider a resolution for an intergovernmental agreement between the Raleigh County Commission, the City of Beckley, and the Raleigh County Solid Waste Authority.
Additionally, council members will address concerns related to vacant buildings in Uptown Beckley.
Public comments will be allowed, with speakers required to sign up in advance. Each speaker will have three minutes, and organizations will be limited to one representative.
While council members and the mayor will not respond during the meeting due to the Open Meetings Act, all comments and concerns will be recorded for review.
A potential executive session is scheduled to discuss a personnel matter involving the city manager position.
