BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Raleigh County man was sentenced on Monday afternoon in relation to the sexual abuse of an 8-year-old girl.

According to Assistant Raleigh County Prosecuting Attorney, Josh Thompson, Â Corey Colby Hicks was sentenced by Raleigh County Circuit Court Judge, Andrew Dimlich to a 5-to-25-year penitentiary sentence with 50 years extended sex offender supervision.
The sentence was in relation to Hicks’ conviction for the First Degree Sexual Abuse of the aforementioned juvenile minor.
The case was prosecuted by Josh Thompson and Lindsey Thompson, and the charges in question from a 2021 sexual abuse investigation.
According to Beckley Police, on December 14, 2021, an 8-year-old stated that a family friend had sexually abused her.
The father of the child said he worked with Corey Hicks and allowed him to stay with the family for a few weeks while getting the money together for his apartment.
During an interview, the victim said that she and Hicks would watch Tik Tok videos, and that he would touch her inappropriately.
