BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Beckley Police Department has announced the retirement of K9 Ora after more than eight years of service to the community.
Since joining the department in November 2016, K9 Ora has played a crucial role in law enforcement efforts alongside her handler, Sergeant Capehart.
Her work has contributed to hundreds of arrests, the seizure of over $1.5 million worth of drugs, and the recovery of hundreds of illegally possessed firearms.
Following her retirement, K9 Ora will remain with Sergeant Capehart.
“The Beckley Police Department extends its deepest gratitude to K9 Ora for her years of faithful service,” Deputy Chief David Allard said in a statement.
