BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Beckley Police Department will conduct a seat belt and safety checkpoint on Saturday, Aug. 15.
The checkpoint is scheduled from 5 to 9 p.m. in the area of Second Street and Thornhill Courts. Police said the alternate location will be the 700 block of Maxwell Hill Road.
During the checkpoint, officers will check motorists for proper seat belt and child safety seat use. Officers will also check for current and valid driver’s licenses and proper vehicle documentation.
The checkpoint is part of the department’s traffic safety enforcement efforts.
