BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Raleigh County will see representation on the national stage Sunday night as Beckley native Kamron Lawson’s American Idol audition airs on ABC.
The Woodrow Wilson graduate made local headlines in September when it was revealed he had passed the first round of auditions for national singing competition American Idol and was headed to New Orleans to audition for the show’s panel of judges.
The lineup of judges, which in the past has included names such as Keith Urban, Mariah Carey, Steven Tyler, and Jennifer Lopez, will see popular singers Lionel Richie, Luke Bryan, and Katy Perry returning for the show’s 21st season.
Those in Raleigh County who hadn’t become familiar with Lawson’s talents by hearing his vocals while at the North Eisenhower Walmart Supercenter were likely to have happened upon one of the many popular online performance videos of the singer shared to social media which saw him tackling numbers from an assortment of musical genres.
While it is unclear at the time of writing whether Lawson will be seen during future airings of the highly popular competition show, viewers can anticipate catching the Beckley native on the small screen tonight at 8:00pm as he attempts to wow the show’s panel of superstar judges.
