BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Bestselling author, S.D. Smith recently paid a visit to Bradley Elementary School, where students were gifted copies of Smith’s book, The Green Ember.
During his visit at Bradley Elementary, Smith spoke with students grades 3-5 and offered valuable insight from his own experience as well as tips for writing and making sound decisions.
“You’re living a story,” Smith told the students during the visit. “Everyone is reading the story. Be a good character.”
The West Virginia native expressed his desire not only to remain in the Mountain State as a professional author, but to provide encouragement and inspiration to children and families.
“I want to demonstrate and advocate for the cause of pursuing big visions here. I want us to export amazing stories and values to other states and the world, not our most talented people,” Smith said. “I want talented people to move here to work with us because we’re creating something world-class, not follow the sad path of losing our best people. I’m staying. And I want to share my adventures with every kid in West Virginia.”
Smith had made a name for himself professionally through his acclaimed The Green Ember book series. Additional information on Smith and his works can be found at the S.D. Smith website.
