BLUEFIELD, WV (LOOTPRESS) – An inmate faces more charges after he damages a security camera with spoiled milk.
According to Bluefield Police, on September 18, 2021, Lt. Adams received a complaint that Tremayne Lee, an inmate of the Bluefield City Jail, had damaged a security camera system in the holding cell. Lee had destroyed the camera by taking old milk and throwing the spoiled milk on the camera, walls, and floors of the holding cell and hallways. Lee was removed from the cell until the location could be cleaned.
On September 22, 2021, Lee was transported to the city court, grabbed the security camera’s wiring, and tore it from the ceiling. This created further damage to the city’s property. A repair service technician could repair the wiring damaged by Lee but could not fix the surveillance camera that had sustained water damage. The estimated repair cost for all damage is estimated at 3,000 dollars.
Lee was being held on municipal warrants for failing to appear in city court. Lee is now facing charges of felony destruction of property.
