CHARLESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) — State Delegate Bob Fehrenbacher, R-District 11, has officially filed to run for the West Virginia State Senate in District 3, which includes Pleasants, Ritchie, Wood, and Wirt counties.
Fehrenbacher said his decision to seek a Senate seat is rooted in continuing the work he began after first being elected to the House of Delegates.
“Since I was first elected, I have worked hard to deliver results for West Virginia by voting for stronger education systems and critical infrastructure,” Fehrenbacher said. “I’m excited to take that experience to the State Senate and continue the work we’ve started.”
Fehrenbacher pointed to his support for major tax relief measures, including backing the largest tax cut in state history and approving rebates to return personal property tax dollars to residents and small businesses.
First elected to the House of Delegates in 2022, Fehrenbacher has sponsored and supported legislation aimed at attracting new businesses to West Virginia while helping existing employers grow and stay in the state.
“Our businesses—large and small—are the backbone of our economy,” Fehrenbacher said. “Now is the time to focus on improving our business climate and making it easier to do business in West Virginia.”
Fehrenbacher currently serves as chairman of the House Energy and Manufacturing Committee. He also serves on the Finance, Appropriations, Banking and Insurance, Energy, and Public Works committees.
Fehrenbacher and his wife, Annette, live in Wood County.
