GLEN JEAN, WV (LOOTPRESS) – West Virginia American Water has officially lifted precautionary boil water advisories for two areas in Fayette County following recent water main breaks.
In Glen Jean, approximately 91 customers on McKell Avenue were affected. In Oak Hill, about 45 customers on Meadow Fork School Road were under the advisory.
Both notices were issued as a safety measure after water main issues.
According to the company, water quality testing has confirmed that the water now meets all safe drinking standards, and there is no longer a need to boil water before use.
Customers were notified of the advisory changes through the American Water emergency alert system.
West Virginia American Water thanked residents for their patience and cooperation and encouraged customers to share the update with others in their communities.
