FAYETTEVILLE, WV (LOOTPRESS) – When visiting the New River Gorge, one may stay in a hotel, cabin, or a campground. But at one location near Fayetteville, a restored caboose can be your place to stay during a visit to the Gorge.
Beside Cantrell’s Rafting near Fayetteville, a restored Chesapeake & Ohio caboose sits on the property with a new paint job restored to its original state. On the inside, the caboose has been renovated to accommodate guests visiting the area.
The caboose features a full-size bed in its own bedroom, a bathroom, a twin-sized mattress in the cupola, and a futon in the living room.
There is also a patio that is perfect for a game of cornhole, a covered area with outdoor picnic tables, a fire pit, and a grill.
After a good night’s sleep, go take a hike on the nearby Long Point Trail and get an amazing winter view of the New River Gorge Bridge to make the stay an even more memorable experience.
A New York Central caboose also sits on the property and is available for a stay.
