DANVILLE, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Boone County man is facing allegations after deputies say he repeatedly threatened to kill his mother and struck a small dog in the face.
According to a criminal complaint, deputies responded to a threats complaint at a residence on Jimmie Hollow Road in Danville at approximately 6:28 p.m. on Tuesday, August 25, 2026.
When deputies arrived, they detained Michael Frye outside the residence while speaking with his mother.
The victim told deputies she felt unsafe because Frye had allegedly made multiple threats to her, including statements that he was going to “cut her head off.”
She also told investigators that she sleeps with a handgun for protection because she fears Frye may harm or kill her.
According to the complaint, the victim also reported that Frye struck the family’s small dog in the face with his fist while on the porch before law enforcement was called.
The incident remains part of a criminal investigation in Boone County.
The allegations contained in the complaint have not been proven in court, and Frye is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
