Princeton built a 17-point halftime lead and cruised past Independence 74-50 Saturday in Coal City.
Kham Hurte led the Tigers with 15 points, while John Wellman and Kris Joyce scored 14 each. E.J. Washington and Chase Hancock had eight points apiece.
Cyrus Goodson led all scorers with 17 points for the Patriots and Michael McKinney had nine.
Independence travels to Nicholas County Monday. Princeton hosts PikeView Tuesday.

Mercer Christian threw a scare into Class A No. 3 Greater Beckley Christian Saturday night before dropping a 76-67 decision.
Leading by just two points after three quarter, Greater Beckley was able to pull away late for the win.
Sherlock Padmore led Greater Beckley with 19 points, while John Rose and Kendrick Wilson scored 15 points apiece. Sean-David Kadjo added 10 points.
Sam Boothe riddled Greater Beckley all evening scoring a game high 43 points including seven shots from behind the arc. Tanner Keathley added 11 for Mercer Christian.
Greater Beckley heads to Shady Spring Monday for a battle with the defending Class AAA state champions. Mercer Christian travels to Lindside Tuesday for a date with Class A No. 1 James Monroe.
