Tug Valley 52, East Hardy 39
Charleston – Leading by three points heading to the final period, Class A No. 2 Tug Valley outscored No. 3 East Hardy 14-4 en route to 52-39 win the the Class A semifinals of the boys basketball state tournament Friday night at the Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center.
Ashton Davis led the Panthers with 20 points, while Buddy Marcum added seven points and had 12 rebounds. Braydun Ferris had eight points, six assists, six rebounds and four steals for Tug.
J.W. Tweets scored 17 points for the Cougars (20-4) and Mason Hamilton added nine.
Tug Valley (21-6) will play No. 1 seed Tucker County at 5:30 p.m. Saturday for the Class A state championship.
