Tucker County 70, Webster County 41
Charleston – The Tucker County boys basketball team has never won a state basketball title, falling short in last year’s title game.
Saturday the No. 1-seeded Mountain Lions will get another shot after dispatching No. 4 Webster County 70-41 in the Class A semis Friday morning in the Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center.
Tucker flexed its muscle all day in the paint, outscoring Webster 38-6 in that area.
Trevan Bonner led the Mountain Lions with 23 points and Ethan Rosenau added 18 points
Owen Knotts scored 12 and had nine rebounds, while Ashton Lycliter grabbed 17 rebounds.
Rayden Triplett led the Highlanders with 19 points and eight rebounds.
Tucker County will play the winner between No. 2 Tug Valley and No. 3 East Hardy Saturday at 5 p.m.
