Fairmont Senior 57, East Fairmont 31
Charleston – Two-time defending Class AAA state champion Fairmont Senior will return to defend its title after knocking off No. 4 seed East Fairmont 57-31 in the semifinals Thursday night at the boys state basketball tournament.
The Polar Bears led 18-8 after one quarter and controlled the game throughout.
Zycheus Dobbs led the No. 1 seeded Polar Bears with 21 points, 1o rebounds and seven assists. Tre Cumberledge added 13 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Andre Grant scored 11 points.
Maddox Boyers led the Bees with 14 points.
Fairmont Senior will battle Shady Spring for the third straight season in Saturday’s championship game at 10 a.m.
