South Charleston 51, Jefferson 33
Charleston – Class AAAA No. 5 seed South Charleston outscored No. 4 seed Jefferson 13-4 in the third quarter and cruised past the Cougars 51-33 Tuesday morning inside the Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center.
The Black Eagles controlled the glass holding a 39-22 rebounding edge and a 22-8 advantage on points in the paint.
Zane Saunders had 15 points and Elijah Martin scored 14 for South Charleston. Roman Kellum added nine points, grabbed seven rebounds and had five blocks.
Wyatt Shively scored 13 for Jefferson and Kylan Johnson added 10.
South Charleston will play the winner of No. 1 Spring Mills and No. 8 Beckley Friday at 1 p.m.
