Charleston – South Harrison struggled to score in the second half of Wednesday’s Class AA quarterfinal matchup with Charleston Catholic, mustering just six points after the intermission in a 46-30 loss to the Irish in the Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center.
With the win Charleston catholic advances to the Class AA semis where it will face No. 1 Williamstown on Friday at 11:15.
Leading 24-18 at the break, South Harrison shot just 17 percent in the remaining two quarters, positing just two points in the final frame of its season.
Charleston Catholic meanwhile asserted control when Jay Allen Turner scored on an alley-oop in the third quarter.
Turner led the charge with 19 points while Noah Burnside was South Harrison’s only player in double figures with 12 points.
