BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Beckley ARH Hospital has announced its upcoming “Breast Friends” lunch event which will be held at the Historic Black Knight Municipal Park and will honor breast cancer survivors.
An ARH cardiologist, oncologist, pulmonologist, general surgeon, women’s health provider, and imaging professional will be on hand for the event and will participate in a Q&A session. RN, Beckley ARH Hospital Operating Room Director, and breast cancer survivor, Melanie Overton has been announced as the guest speaker for the event.
The event is scheduled to be held from 11:30am to 1:00pm and will feature a buffet lunch. It is the hope of organizers that the event will serve to both honor and encourage survivors of breast cancer.
“We want to celebrate those who have traveled the hard journey, fought through it and survived,” said Beckley ARH Director of Ancillary Services, Lhea Mollette. “And not just that, but we also want to provide them with information to help support them in every aspect of their health.”
Guests in attendance, in addition to lunch, will receive survivors’ gift bags and will be registered for a chance to win door prizes.
“Events like this are important as ARH works to carry out its mission to promote and improve the wellbeing of those in our communities,” Mollette continued. “We just want to honor survivors and also show that there is hope.
