WYOMING COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A family argument over FEMA relief money turned physical on Saturday evening, resulting in the arrest of a Brenton woman.
At approximately 7:58 p.m., Corporal Tucker Cook with the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Department responded to a report of a verbal domestic disturbance in Brenton. Upon arrival, the complainant informed officers that Lena Marina became aggressive during a disagreement over federal aid funds.
The dispute reportedly escalated when Marina allegedly refused to share documentation about the FEMA money. The argument turned physical, with Marina allegedly shoving the other woman, who then pushed Marina back in self-defense. The two continued to argue and shove each other until a third party intervened.
After temporarily separating, the argument reportedly reignited upstairs, prompting the victim to call 911.
Marina was arrested for domestic battery and transported to the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office for processing. She was booked without incident. The victim was offered a Domestic Violence Protective Order but declined.
