SCARBRO, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A burglary call in Fayette County on Sunday evening ended with one man behind bars after fleeing from law enforcement.
At approximately 6:47 p.m. on September 21, Senior Trooper Ferris of the West Virginia State Police responded to assist the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office with a reported burglary at a home on Scarbro Road. Homeowners told troopers that two men had fled the residence on foot heading south.
Trooper Ferris later spotted two individuals, identified as Jareth Myers and Harley Pennington, walking near the intersection of Scarbro Road and Route 612. After obtaining identification, dispatch confirmed that Pennington had two active warrants out of Fayette County.
When informed of the warrants, Pennington fled on foot. Trooper Ferris pursued and was able to catch and arrest him, though two of his ammunition magazines were dislodged during the chase, with one breaking and spilling rounds onto the roadway.
Pennington was transported to the West Virginia State Police Oak Hill Detachment for processing. He is facing multiple charges, including obstructing, fleeing on foot, destruction of property, conspiracy (warrant), and possession of a controlled substance (warrant).
