BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Beckley Area Foundation has announced one of its most recent designated distributions in the form of a $404 distribution to Burlington Family United Methodist Family Services
“A designated fund is established by a donor to benefit a specific charity, or program for a charity. Since the first designated fund was established in 1986, over $6.5 million dollars has been distributed from designated funds.
Burlington United Methodist Family Services, Beckley Campus is a religious charitable human services organization. They provide services to every child in need by preventing harm, and providing hope & healing to children and families.
‘We are truly honored and blessed to be thought of. Burlington cannot operate without the love and support from the community. It is very humbling to have the Richmond’s think of us and support us through BAF. Thank you all, and from all the children, families and employees, God Bless You!,’ said Mark Allen, Vice President of Burlington United Methodist Family Services.
Burlington received their very first annual distribution of $404, made possible by a recently established designated fund to support their efforts:
The Burlington United Methodist Family Services Fund was established in 2020, to support the needs and wants, beyond the basic necessities, of the children of Burlington located in Beckley.
The fund was started by Ray and Bobbie Richmond in memory of their son, Michael Douglas Richmond. Mike was a fixture in the community as an Allstate Insurance Agent, and he was incredibly passionate about helping the people of WV. Total Distributed Over Time | $404.00
