The Lootpress Player of the Week Award sponsored by Mid-State Ford, Little General, Dutch Miller and The Law Offices of Brandon Steele, has returned for a third year.
Below are the candidates for the ninth week of the boys basketball season. Voting will close Wednesday, Feb. 21 at 11:59 P.M. The fan vote will be used in the event of a tie. There are also changes to the Player of the Week voting pertaining to the top overall vote getter that you can read about here

Week 7 had two winners as weather led to the postponement of most games throughout Week 6.
- Braydon McClung, Greenbrier West – McClung broke 26 points three times, scoring 33 in a win over Montcalm.
- Cooper Ridgeway, James Monroe – Â Ridgeway netted 15 points in a win over River View.
- Brayden French, Westside – French scored 25 points in a. win against Liberty and 23 in a win over Mount View.
- Ammar Maxwell, Shady Spring – Maxwell scored 30 and 21 as Shady finished with three wins this week.
- Kam’Ron Gore, Bluefield – Gore scored 15 in a win over PikeView and 22 in a loss to Princeton.
- Ashton Arthur, Independence – Arthur netted 21 in a win over Greater Beckley.
- Ryan Oliveros, Summers County – Oliveros scored 16 in an upset win over James Monroe.
- Eli Campbell, Midland Trail – Champbell scored 23 in a Trail win over Sherman.
- MJ Patton, Mercer Christian – Patton scored 19 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in a win over Pipestem Christian.
- Cole Brown, Nicholas County – Brown netted 23 points in a win over Sissonville.
- Kellen Heffernan, Greater Beckley – Heffernan netted 24 points in a WVCAT victory.
- Nik Fleming, Princeton – Fleming scored 16 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in a win against Bluefield.
- Bryson Huff, Wyoming East – Huff scored 15 points in a win over Mingo Central.
- Andre Wright, Oak Hill – Wright scored 18 points, helping Oak Hill to a 66-40 win over PikeView.
