The Lootpress Player of the Week Award sponsored by Mid-State Ford, Bodyworks and The Law Offices of Brandon Steele, has returned for the second year.
Below are the candidates for the second week of the girls basketball season. Voting will close Monday at 11:59 P.M. The fan vote will be used in the event of a tie. There are also changes to the Player of the Week voting pertaining to the top overall vote getter that you can read about here
In order for a player to be eligible or nominated, the stat keeper or coach must report all scores and statistics. Scores can be reported to Tylerjackson@lootpress.com and Rustyudy@lootpress.com.
- Addison Isaacs, Midland Trail – Isaacs helped Trail to a 3-0 record this week while averaging 14.3 points per game.
- Kayley Trump, Mercer Christian – In the Cavaliers’ lone game this week Trump poured on 25 points in a victory.
- Cadence Stewart, Greenbrier East – Stewart continued her torrid start to the season with 17 and 31-point scoring performances, helping the Spartans to wins over Princeton and St. Albans.
- Brooke Craft, PikeView – Craft averaged 7.5 points across two games but pulled down 21 rebounds in a win.
- Maddie Clark, Wyoming East – Clark recorded 13 points and dished out eight assists as the Lady Warriors remained unbeaten with a 51-39 win over defending Class AAA state champion Logan.
- Preslee Treadway, Greenbrier West – Treadway scored 12 points in each of West’s two games, helping the Cavaliers to a 1-1 record this week.
- Lataja Creasey, Beckley – Creasey averaged 14.5 points per game this week, helping Beckley to a 1-1 record against Huntington and Bluefield.
- Adyson Hines, James Monroe – Hines recorded a 16-point, 14-rebound effort with eight steals in a win against Greenbrier West.
- Abby Persinger, Summers County – Perisnger averaged 12 points per game, scoring 13 and grabbing 10 rebounds against Chapmanville. She scored 11 with three steals against Braxton County.
