The Lootpress Player of the Week Award sponsored by Mid-State Ford, Little General, Bodyworks and The Law Offices of Brandon Steele, has returned for the second year.
Below are the candidates for the third week of the prep baseball season. Voting will close Friday, April 14 at 11:59 P.M. The fan vote will be used in the event of a tie. There are also changes to the Player of the Week voting pertaining to the top overall vote getter that you can read about here.
If the the top vote getter has already won a community choice poll, the next leading vote getter who has not won will be named that week’s community choice winner.

- Abigail Jenkins, Princeton – Jenkins batted .455 with three RBI and three walks as Princeton picked up wins against Bluefield and Oak Hill.
- Kayley Bane, Wyoming East – Bane scorched the ball with a .538 batting average, notching three doubles and driving in four runs.
- Lily Carola, Greenbrier East – Carola batted .714 with three RBI in eight plate appearances for the Spartans.
- Keandra Spurlock, Liberty – Spurlock batted .650 with 13 hits including a home run. She also drove in 11 runs.
- Mallie Lawson, Shady Spring – Lawson batted .500 in 6 plate appearances, driving in four runs for the Tigers who finished the week 3-1.
- Aubrey Smallwood, Beckley – Smallwood did it all last week, batting .538 with seven RBI. As a pitcher she went 2-1 in the circle with 45 strikeouts in 21.2 innings of work.
- Hannah Honosky, River View – Honosky batted .700 with five RBI while compiling a 2-0 record and 25 strikeouts in 12 innings of work.
- Emma Ames, Greenbrier West – Ames blasted a home run and a double, driving in seven runs in a 19-1 win.
- Delaney Buckland, Independence – Buckland pitched a pair of shutouts including a no-hitter against Liberty. She struck out 25 batters combined in her two starts.
