Cast your vote for the Week 7 Player of the Week!

The Lootpress Player of the Week Award sponsored by Mid-State Ford, Little General, Dutch Miller and The Law Offices of Brandon Steele, has returned for a third year.

Below are the candidates for the seventh week of the boys basketball season. Voting will close Wednesday, Jan. 31 at 11:59 P.M. The fan vote will be used in the event of a tie. There are also changes to the Player of the Week voting pertaining to the top overall vote getter that you can read about here

In order for a player to be eligible or nominated, the stat keeper or coach must report all scores and statistics. Scores can be reported to Tylerjackson@lootpress.com and Rustyudy@lootpress.com.

Since most of Week 6 was lost to snow, there will be two Player of the Week winners named in Week 7 as well as two Community Choice winners.

  • Cole Brown, Nicholas County – Brown netted 20 in a win for the Grizzlies, hitting double figures twice.
  • Keegan Davidson, Great Beckley – Davidson hit doubles figures four times over the last two weeks with a 24-point outing against Liberty.
  • Ammar Maxwell, Shady Spring – Maxwell crossed the 30-point threshold in both games this week, scoring his 1,000th career point in the process.
  • Jaden Gladwell, Midland Trail – Gladwell scored in double figures twice and hit the game-winning buzzer-beater in a win over Greenbrier West.
  • Braydon McClung, Greenbrier West – McClung was good for 20 in all three of West’s contests with a high of 27 points.
  • Cooper Ridgeway, James Monroe – Ridgeway scored 15 in a win.
  • Malachi Lewis, Oak Hill – Lewis went for 21 and 19 points in separate games this past week.
  • Brandan Isaac, Summers County – Isaac had games with 26 and 28 points, both wins.
  • Kam’Ron Gore, Bluefield – Gore netted 14 in a win against Wyoming East and followed with 22 points in a huge home win over Shady Spring.
  • Braxton Morgan, Wyoming East – Morgan scored 20 against Bluefield, grabbed 18 rebounds against Mingo Central and put it together for a 14-point, 10-rebound performance against Summers County.
  • Jadon Acord, Liberty – Acord hit double figures three times with a high of 24 points.
  • Sylas Nelson, Independence – Nelson netted 18 in a Saturday win at the MLK Classic at Greater Beckley.
  • Austin Bishop, Westside – Westside picked up a pair of wins this past week behind Bishop. He scored 26 in a thriller against Nicholas County and followed up with 17 against Mercer Christian.
  • Brycen Sawyers Meadow Bridge – Sawyers scored 23 points in a Wildcat win.
  • Britt Beasley, Princeton – Beasley cored 23 and 26 points as Princeton picked up sectional wins over Oak Hill and Greenbrier East.
  • Jaylon Walton, Beckley – Walton averaged 13 points a game this past week, helping the Flying Eagles split with Shady Spring and Huntington.
