ROANE COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Charleston man has been arrested following a shooting incident on Monday, December 16, 2024, that left a 19-year-old woman hospitalized with multiple gunshot wounds.
At approximately 9:15 p.m., Senior Trooper J.M. Mack and Trooper J.M. Carvell of the West Virginia State Police responded to a shots-fired call at Nancy’s Run. Upon arrival, troopers learned that the victim had been shot several times and transported to Roane General Hospital before being airlifted to CAMC General Division, where she remains in stable condition.
Troopers quickly identified the suspect as 27-year-old Scott Breeden of Charleston, WV. Special Operations K9 and SRT units were deployed to assist with the search after Breeden fled the scene on foot. Due to adverse weather, aviation units were unable to assist. The WVSP Crime Scene Team Bravo processed the area.
Warrants were obtained for Breeden on charges of Attempted Murder and Malicious Wounding through Roane County. Following an extensive investigation, Breeden was located and taken into custody in Dunbar, WV. He has been incarcerated at South-Central Regional Jail on the stated charges.
