BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Chief Financial Officer for the City of Beckley, Billie Trump has confirmed his intention to retire next month.
Reports indicating the development emerged on Tuesday and were confirmed by Trump himself who tells LOOTPRESS, “I do plan to retire.”
When asked what his role would be going forward with regard to city matters, Trump indicated a willingness to contribute as requested but did not go into further detail.
“I have let the city officials know that I would be willing to assist going forward in any way they deem necessary,” said Trump, who has served this city in an administrative capacity since 2016 and previously served as Fire Chief for the city.
There has been mention amongst city officials of Trump potential serving as Interim City Manager as a permanent candidate is sought, though Trump did not confirm or deny this when speaking with LOOTPRESS.
