HINTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Summers County Fire Department chief has been arrested on child pornography charges.
According to State Police, on October 2, 2020, a mother came to police about a Snapchat message that was sent to one of her juvenile daughters from Brian Cale and another underage juvenile. Â The mother showed police messages from Brian Cale and the underage juvenile who asked her child if she wanted to have sex. In addition, two videos were showing Cale and the underage juvenile smoking and snorting an unknown substance.
On Monday, June 7, 2021, State Police met with Detective Sommers with the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office after Sommers received a tip from National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Â The reported tip was received on October 13, 2020. Â The report was initiated from Snapchat, which showed a white male move a female juveniles’ panties to the side, exposing her. Â Detective Sommers matched the email account attached to the account and identified it as belonging to Brian Cale. Â On Cale’s Facebook page, a QR code was found, and when scanned, it would direct the user to the Snapchat account, tied to the email address.
Mr. Cale admitted to being part of the Snapchat video and stated that it was just the one juvenile and no one else. Â He further stated that the substance snorted in the videos was sugar.
Brian Cale faces charges of distributing child porn of minors in sex, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, soliciting a minor via computer, and child abuse creating the risk of injury. Â He is currently in Southern Regional Jail under a 100 thousand dollar bond.
