The Lootpress Player of the Week Award sponsored by Mid-State Ford, Little General, Bodyworks and The Law Offices of Brandon Steele, has returned for the second year.
Below are the candidates for sectional week of the girls basketball season. Voting will close Thursday, March 3 at 11:59 P.M. The fan vote will be used in the event of a tie. There are also changes to the Player of the Week voting pertaining to the top overall vote getter that you can read about here.
If the the top vote getter has already won a community choice poll, the next leading vote getter who has not won will be named that week’s community choice winner.
In order for a player to be eligible or nominated, the stat keeper or coach must report all scores and statistics. Scores can be reported to Tylerjackson@lootpress.com and Rustyudy@lootpress.com.
- Jocelyn Hall, PikeView – Hall averaged 9.5 points per game, scoring a game-high 13 point in the Lady Panthers’ sectional championship win over Westside.
- Abby Persinger – Â Persinger averaged nine points per game including a 14-point performance that helped Summers defeat Wyoming East in New Richmond and secure a home regional game.
- Keanti Thompson – Thompson averaged 18 points per game, helping lead the Lady Flying Eagles to two wins and a sectional championship.
- Maddie Fields, Greenbrier West – Fields scored 19 points in each of West’s wins this week, hitting the game-winning 3 in the sectional championship against Webster County.
- Autumn Bane Bane averted 13.5 points per game including a 17-point performance in a win against Greenbrier East.
- Maggie Boroski, James Monroe – Boroski scored 18 points as the Lady Mavs avenged a pair of sectional losses the last two years with a win against River View.
