The Lootpress Player of the Week Award sponsored by Mid-State Ford, Bodyworks and The Law Offices of Brandon Steele, has returned for the second year.
Below are the candidates for the third week of the boys basketball season. Voting will close Tuesday, Jan. 3 at 11:59 P.M. The fan vote will be used in the event of a tie. There are also changes to the Player of the Week voting pertaining to the top overall vote getter that you can read about here
In order for a player to be eligible or nominated, the stat keeper or coach must report all scores and statistics. Scores can be reported to Tylerjackson@lootpress.com and Rustyudy@lootpress.com.
- Braden Chapman, Shady Spring – Chapman averaged 17.2 points per game, helping Shady Spring to a 2-2 record against some of the best teams in Florida in the Kingdom of the Sun Tournament in Ocala.
- Josh Burks, James Monroe – Burks averaged 15 points in two games in the Battle for the Armory including an 8 for 10 shooting performance against Calvary Baptist Academy.
- Nik Fleming, Princeton – Fleming was good for 16.5 points a game, helping Princeton to a 2-0 record and the Pepsi Championship in The Battle for the Armory.
- Elijah Redfern, Beckley – Redfern averaged 19.5 points per game for the Flying Eagles who picked up their first two wins of the season. One came against sectional foe Oak Hill and the other against reigning Class A state champion James Monroe.
- Cole Lambert, Wyoming East – Lambert averaged 14.5 points per game for the Warriors who picked up a win against Class AA for Charleston Catholic.
- Brycen Sawyers, Meadow Bridge – Sawyers scored 23 points for the Wildcats who scored a win over Bath County, Va.
- Adam Seams, Greenbrier East – Seams scored 16 points to lead the Spartans to a key road victory against regional foe and semifinalist South Charleston.
