The Lootpress Player of the Week Award sponsored by Mid-State Ford, Bodyworks and The Law Offices of Brandon Steele, has returned for the second year.
Below are the candidates for the fifth week of the girls basketball season. Voting will close Tuesday, Jan. 10 at 11:59 P.M. The fan vote will be used in the event of a tie. There are also changes to the Player of the Week voting pertaining to the top overall vote getter that you can read about here
In order for a player to be eligible or nominated, the stat keeper or coach must report all scores and statistics. Scores can be reported to Tylerjackson@lootpress.com and Rustyudy@lootpress.com.
- Cadence Stewart, Greenbrier East – Stewart scored 16 points and grabbed 10 rebounds as Greenbrier East won a tough regional matchup with South Charleston.
- Kayley Bane, Wyoming East – Bane averaged 12.5 points per game for the Lady Warriors who lost to Spring Valley but rebounded with a blowout win against St. Marys.
- Maddie Stull, Princeton – Stull finished with a triple double as Princeton went on the road and defeated Capital this past week. She scored 11 points, grabbed 11 rebounds and stole 10 passes.
- Maddie Fields, Greenbrier West – Fields scored 21 points across two games against Summers County and River View, helping the Cavs split with a big win against River View.
- Maggie Boroski, James Monroe – Boroski averaged 16 points per game for the Mavs this week but also stole 13 passes across two games – both wins for James Monroe.
- Gracie Harvey, Summers County – Harvey was good for 16.5 points per game for the Lady Bobcats who picked up a pair of wins.
- Riley Meadows, PikeView – Meadows averaged 14 points per game as the Panthers split with University and Midland Trail.
