HINTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Authorities are currently seeking information which could lead to the arrest of the individual or individuals involved in the vandalization of the Summers County Courthouse Christmas display over the weekend.
Several items arranged for the Christmas Display at the Hinton courthouse location have reportedly been stolen, with other items reportedly having been damaged during the incident.
The Summers County Sheriff’s Department Tuesday afternoon released a statement regarding the incident which is reported to have occurred over the weekend between the late hours of Friday, November 18 and Saturday, November 19.
“Summers County, in conjunction with the City of Hinton, have decorated the walkway for people to enjoy during the holidays and it’s a shame that greed and malice has threatened that,” read a statement from the department.
“But fear not, here at the Sheriff’s Office we remain in the giving spirit. Something that the person responsible for this will soon find out.”
The statement goes on to request that anyone with information regarding the incident or the person(s) involved reach out to the department.
