BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Beckley City Council on Tuesday voted to approve the City Manager contract for incoming candidate Michael Resare, who was confirmed last month to have been selected for the role.
Details of the contract in question were touched on briefly by City of Beckley Attorney, Bill File during Tuesday’s session.
According to File, Resare will take on the City Manager position for a three-and-a-half year term at an annual salary rate of $126,200.
Speaking with LOOTPRESS in October shortly following his announcement as the incoming City Manager, Resare expressed enthusiasm at the prospect of bringing a new energy to the goings on of the city.
“I’m excited to help input some different ideas and fresh perspectives over there for the City of Beckley,” Resare told LOOTPRESS. “We’re all super excited to come there and make Beckley our home and help make it really a family area that’s more friendly to families and parks and really try to boost recreation and growth for the area.”
Per the approved City Manager contract, Resare is expected to fully assume the duties associated with the City Manager role beginning December 2, 2024.
