BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The City of Beckley held a special meeting Tuesday night to receive and vote on recommendations for a new Recorder-Treasurer.
During the special council meeting, City Manager Phillip Jarrell recommended Evan Dewey, the current Deputy Fitness Manager and Chief Financial Officer for the West Virginia Department of Transportation.
He was previously the procurement and budget director for the West Virginia Department of Transportation from 2019 to 2023, before being promoted to Deputy Fitness Manager and Chief Financial Officer.
The vote to approve Dewey was unanimous.
His salary will be $105,000.
