BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The City of Beckley has released information pertaining to its upcoming 2023 Spring Cleanup event.
The event will see items collected by the Public Works Department beginning on Monday, March 27, 2023. Items in all wards of the city are to be placed within 5 feet of the curb by 7:00am on this day. It has been noted that no return visits will be made to any streets following the completion of pickup.
There will also be a number of items which cannot be picked up by the city as part of the event. These include tires, hazardous waste, and petroleum products such as oil and gasoline, as well as yard waste such as tree limbs, logs, and brush.
Demolition materials, batteries, and liquids such as paint thinners, pesticides, and insecticides will not qualify for pickup, nor will “white goods” such as washers, dryers, refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, or stoves.
It has been advised, however, that the Recycling Department of Public Works will offer to pick up “white goods” such as washers, dryers, refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, and stoves on any Friday for a fee of $25 per item upon the scheduling of a pickup by calling (304) 256-1813.
Those seeking more information on the City of Beckley’s upcoming 2023 Spring Cleanup event are encouraged to call (304) 256-1740.
