CHARLESTON, W.Va. (LOOTPRESS) – The City of Charleston is looking for summer lifeguards to man the city pools.
Charleston Parks and Recreation is currently offering lifeguards $11 per hour. In order to help recruit employees, the city will provide free lifeguard certifications. These certifications are being sponsored by the Jay Margolis Junior Lifeguard Program, the YMCA of Charleston and Legendary Lifeguards.
Those interested are asked to visit charlestonwv.gov, click on “Work” and then “City Employment.” From there, they can follow the link that says, “click here to access the City’s career site portal” and choose “Certified Lifeguards” and “Apply Now.”
A Lifeguard Water Skill Evaluation schedule will be provided once the applications are received. Those who pass the evaluation will receive the three-day certification class scheduled provided by the YMCA or Legendary Lifeguards.
Applicants must be able to pass a drug screen prior to employment.
