OAK HILL, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Needleseye Park in Oak Hill will soon receive additional security upgrades after the City of Oak Hill was awarded a grant to install enhanced security cameras at the popular outdoor recreation area.
During Monday night’s regular Oak Hill City Council meeting, Delegate Elliott Pritt presented the city with a $2,404.35 Local Economic Development (LED) Grant to fund the enhanced security camera system at the park.
The LED Grant Program is a discretionary funding initiative that provides state senators and delegates with funding to support community projects in coordination with the governor.
“I was proud to be able to present a Local Economic Development Grant to the City of Oak Hill’s Police Department for enhanced security cameras at the new Needleseye Park,” Pritt said.
“This will go a long way in ensuring our public spaces remain safe for everyone’s use.”
Located on the eastern edge of Oak Hill, Needleseye Park encompasses approximately 280 acres and has become one of southern West Virginia’s premier outdoor recreation destinations.
The park has seen significant investment and expansion in recent years, offering hiking, mountain biking, rock climbing, disc golf, and other outdoor recreational opportunities.
The addition of enhanced security cameras is intended to help improve safety for visitors as the park continues to grow in popularity.
