GLEN JEAN, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A loaded coal train has derailed in Fayette County Thursday evening.
A loaded coal train from Pax on its way to Thurmond derailed on the Collins Hill area of Glen Jean after 4 PM Thursday.
Sources on the scene tell us approximately 12 cars derailed.
No cars have tipped over, only the wheels on the affected cars have jumped the tracks.
RJ Corman railroad crews are currently on the scene.
Three crossings, one at Collins Hill and two in the community of Redstar are currently blocked.
It’s currently unclear when the crossings will reopen.
