Beckley – The WVU Tech men’s basketball team was sharp in its season opener Friday, beating NCAA Dll Alderson Broaddus 93-67 in the Beckley-Raleigh County Convention Center.
Five different Golden Bears scored in double figures with Damon Scruggs pouring in a game-high 21 points.
Andreas Jonsson, Thomas Hailey, Andrew Work and Ashton Parker also scored in double figures in the win.
As a team the Golden Bears were sharp, shooting 57 percent from the field.
Tech improves to 1-0 and will host Salem University on Tuesday.
