UPDATE: WHEELING, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The driver and passenger involved in a fatal crash last week in Downtown Wheeling have been identified as indicated by a Friday afternoon report from the Wheeling Police Department.
The identities of the individuals involved in a single-vehicle collision with a utility pole on the Main Street Bridge have been established by the West Virginia Medical Examiners Office.
Bruce Baldi, 65, of Martins Ferry, Ohio, has been identified as the driver, while Diana Baldi, 66, also of Martins Ferry, Ohio, has been identified as the passenger.
Reports indicate that the specific cause of the accident is unknown at this time, and the incident remains under investigation

WHEELING, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Two fatalities have been reported following a Thursday evening vehicle accident in Downtown Wheeling.Â
As indicated by reports from the Wheeling Police Department, authorities with the Wheeling Fire and Police divisions were called to the intersection of 16th and Main Streets at around 6:20pm Thursday.Â
A vehicle was reported to have been crashed into a utility pole on the Main Street Bridge.Â
Both the driver and passenger of the vehicle were pronounced dead on the scene upon the arrival of first responder personnel.Â
The names of the victims have not been released at this time as authorities continue to investigate the incident.Â
