FAYETTEVILLE, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Colorado woman was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence following a two-vehicle crash in Fayetteville on Sunday evening.
According to the Fayetteville Police Department, officers responded to a reported motor vehicle accident at the intersection of U.S. Route 19 and Laurel Street at approximately 7:47 p.m. on June 7.
Upon arrival, officers found two vehicles parked on the shoulder of Laurel Street. Police determined that a green Toyota Tundra driven by Lyndi Danielle Snell had struck the rear of a Ford Super Duty.
While speaking with Snell, officers reported detecting the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from her person.
After the occupants of the other vehicle were cleared from the scene, officers instructed Snell to exit her vehicle. According to the report, she questioned the request and initially refused to comply. Police then opened the vehicle door and removed her from the truck.
While being escorted to a patrol vehicle, Snell reportedly fell to her knees and had to be carried by officers.
Snell was transported to the Fayetteville Police Department, where officers requested that she perform standardized field sobriety tests. Police said she refused.
Officers then read West Virginia’s implied consent statement to Snell, advising her that refusing a chemical test could result in the revocation of her driving privileges. According to the report, she refused twice.
Police subsequently obtained a search warrant for a blood sample. The warrant was executed at Plateau Medical Center, where a blood draw was conducted by medical personnel.
After receiving medical clearance, Snell was transported to Southern Regional Jail, where she awaited arraignment.
The crash and arrest remain part of an ongoing investigation by the Fayetteville Police Department.
