BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Along with an array of agenda items discussed during Tuesday’s Regular Session of the Raleigh County Commission, including budget revisions, county new hires, and more, were multiple rezoning petitions presented to the commission.
The first, a petition from Juan and Michelle Maldonado for the rezoning of B1 to R1 would see applied a zoning change from B1 Business Commercial to R1 Rural Residential for .17 acres of land in the Bradley, WV area.
The request had previously been referred to the Raleigh County Planning and Zoning Commission consideration and hearing, which was advertised as required by law and an affidavit of publication filed with the Planning and Zoning Commission that a public hearing on the same petition was duly held on April the 20th, 2023.
The Raleigh County Planning Commission recommended the petition be approved for residential use, and a motion was passed for the rezoning approval on Tuesday by the commission.
Next came a petition from 674246 Ontario Ltd for the proposed rezoning from R1 to B1 from Rural Residential to B1 Business Commercial. This petition would apply to 2.54 acres property along Robert C Byrd Drive.
In accordance with state law, this request was also referred to the Raleigh County Planning and Zoning Commission for consideration and a subsequent lawfully required.
That hearing took place on April, 20, 2023, and approval was recommended by the Raleigh County Planning Commission for the petition for the proposed use of office and warehouse space. The motion for the petition was approved by the commission.
