MERCER COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS)– It’s painting season around Mercer County and Greg Puckett focuses on buildings in need.
Puckett is also a Mercer County Commissioner and finds buildings that need an updated paint job. He also paints murals on the sides of buildings. Mercer County wrapped up their “Keep Mercer Clean” initiative where residents helped clean up trash around the county.
“It’s a transformational project. I’ve painted over fifty, sixty buildings downtown. I’ve done six murals myself and it’s one of those things that, if you change the environment, you change the individual, you change the individual, you change the behavior,” said Puckett.
For some of these buildings, Puckett has to lift about sixty feet in the air. He would like residents to volunteer painting on low-level and with painting murals.
If you would like to volunteer to paint on low-levels contact the Mercer County Commission at 304-487-8306.
