Roll-off dumpsters will be available onsite for the disposal of various household items.
Organizers stress that no liquids or hazardous materials of any kind will be accepted. However, appliances and tires (excluding semi and tractor tires) will be allowed.
To participate, residents must present a photo ID and proof of residency, such as a valid trash service or landfill receipt from the past 60 days or a notice of violation or clean-up tag issued by a litter control officer.
The event is open to all Fayette County residents, but trash haulers and dump trucks will not be permitted.
Officials warn that unauthorized use of the dumpsters could result in fines or jail time, in accordance with state law (§61-3-53).
Repeat violations may carry increased penalties, including fines up to $1,000 and possible imprisonment.
Once the dumpsters reach capacity, no additional waste will be accepted.
