SNOWSHOE, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A new era has begun at Snowshoe Mountain as construction is officially underway on a modern ski lodge to replace the iconic Shavers Center. A groundbreaking ceremony was held yesterday to mark the start of the project.
The new facility will offer an upgraded experience for visitors, featuring a spacious interior, an expanded outdoor deck with firepits, and additional seating. It will also house Snowshoe’s Ski & Ride School, Pre-Ski program, and Outdoor Adventure Tours. The lodge is set to open in mid-December for the 2025/26 winter season.
“We are absolutely thrilled to kick off this project,” said Snowshoe President & COO Patti Duncan. “The original Shavers Center was a huge part of the mountain’s history, and so many guests and employees have fond memories there. As we look ahead to the next 50 years, we’re excited to create new memories in a facility that enhances the guest experience.”
The new lodge aims to blend tradition with modern comfort, ensuring Snowshoe remains a top destination for skiers and outdoor enthusiasts for decades to come.
