RALEIGH COUNTY, W.V. (LOOTPRESS) – During Tuesday’s regular meeting, the Raleigh County Commission retracted Lowe Brothers Electric Co Inc’s previously awarded bid of $56,990 for an upcoming electrical project at the Raleigh County Courthouse.
When the bid was awarded during a meeting on April 20, County Engineer Detlef Ulfers recommended that the county accept the bid with the requirement that Lowe Brothers provide a construction bond as a safety measure.
According to Ulfers, Lowe Brothers was not willing to provide the bond and therefore could not be permitted to complete the project, which will rewire portions of the Courthouse building.
The county is putting the electrical project back out for bid and hopes to get more participation this time around as Lowe Brothers was the only company to submit an offer initially.
