Saturday the Woodrow Wilson boys and girls cross country teams were back in action at the Ripley Covered Bridge Invitational at Cedar Lakes in Ripley.
Powered by five runners that finished in the top-25, the Flying Eagles’ boys team took third place out of 19 schools entered.
Freshman Aiden Kneeland led Woodrow Wilson with a fifth-place finish in a field of almost 200 runners, while Christian Saffouri came in 10th.
Chris Huffman crossed the line in 18th place followed by Josh Cormack and Connor Cormack in 24th and 25th place, respectively. Robert Shirey was 36th and Jonah Morgan finished 51st for the Flying Eagles.
The Woodrow Wilson girls finished sixth in a field of 12 schools, led by senior Colette Lindley who ran 10th on the day.
Lauren Curtis followed Lindley in 16th place out of 132 runners, while Hannah Keiling was 39th, Ashton Evans ran 44th, Madison Farrish 45th and Emma Adams was 50th.
Cecilia Lindley came across in 55th place and Kyndall Ince was 63rd.
Winfield was the overall winner in the boys team race and Hurricane won the girls team event.

At the 2021 Braxton Invitational Saturday, Trey Stanley from Richwood took the top boys individual honor besting four Class AAA runners from Buckhannon-Upshur.
Hunter Wargo crossed the line in 18th position for the Lumberjacks.
On the girls side, Richwood placed second behind the Buck-Ups in the team event led by a trio of sophomores who placed in the top-10.
Baylee Jarrett led the Lumberjacks in fourth place, followed by Carlee Dillard in sixth place and Kelsey Davis was 10th.
Freshman Reagan Raffo was 17th and Sophie Mullens was 21st.
