The Woodrow Wilson and Shady Spring boys cross-country teams continued their strong running Saturday at the Chick-fil-A Cross-Country Invitational in Mineral Wells.
Woodrow Wilson placed third overall and was second amongst the Class AAA schools in the event.
Aiden Kneeland finished sixth to lead the Flying Eagles. Kneeland was followed Brandon Canaday (13), Josh Cormack (37), Christian Saffouri (47) and Robert Shirey (56).
Shady Spring’s Jacob Dowdy was the top local performer with a sixth-place finish. He was followed by Sam Jordan (46), Zane Carothers (67), Eli Northrop (69) and Eli Jordan (74).
On the girl’s side, Woodrow Wilson finished 12th and Shady Spring was 19th.
Colette Lindley from Woodrow Wilson led the local runners on the girl’s side in 20th place. Charlotte McGinnis from Shady Spring was 25th and Lauren Curtis was 33rd for the Flying Eagles.
The next meet for Shady Spring is Saturday at PikeView, while Woodrow Wilson runs at the Covered Bridge Invitational in Ripley, Sept. 25.
